One of my favorite things about family photography is capturing the moments that happen in between the poses — the giggles, the cheeky little smiles, the dancing, the little arms wrapped around mom and dad, and the way families naturally move together.

This Tacoma family session was full of exactly those moments. These two were such a joy and troopers in the typical PNW chill of the fall. From the teasing to the little secrets whispered, the joy on their faces made this session such a fun one to photograph.

We photographed this session in Tacoma at Wright Park, one of my favorite locations for family photography in the Pacific Northwest. The park offers beautiful natural textures, towering trees, and soft light filtering through the branches. A sweet little bridge, pond, and botanical garden create a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Locations like this allow families to move naturally and interact with each other, which helps create photographs that feel authentic rather than overly posed.

While I'm based in Snohomish County, I love traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest to photograph families in places that feel meaningful to them.

Sessions like this are exactly why I love documenting families. Children grow so quickly, and photographs like these become a way to hold onto the small, meaningful moments of everyday life.

If you're looking for a Snohomish County family photographer who focuses on natural connection and storytelling, I’d love to help document your family’s story.

One of my favorite parts of this session was how naturally these two interacted with each other. Instead of forcing poses, we spent time walking through the park, letting moments unfold naturally. The giggles, the little glances between them, and the quiet moments in between created photographs that feel genuine and full of life.
